Founded in 1253, dissolved in 1535 and restored in 1906, this distinguishedmedieval Priory is steeped in history. Originally home to the Black Cannons of St.Augustine’s Order, it was a hostel for many pilgrims to Canterbury, later a centre forsmugglers, most notably the Aldington Gang, and to this day, still retains an ancient offerof hospitality to the Archdeacon of Canterbury who has the privilege of staying at thePriory ‘two nights and a day, but nothing more.’Set in seven magnificent acres of mature gardens, with majestic outlooks in everydirection, the distinguished old Priory and Edwardian country house are offeredexclusively for weddings, board meetings, private dining, parties and balls in the mostunique of locations. It is also a photographers’ dream.

For more intimate ceremonies, parts of the Edwardian house, adjacent to the olderPriory, are also licensed for civil ceremonies. The Drawing Room and the Conservatoryare both available for hire and comfortably cater for up to 50 guests. The house is verymuch lived in by the third generation of family trustees and any ceremony only benefitsfrom a warm and relaxed ‘at home’ ambience.The in­house catering team, led by Robert and Jonathan Emson, work with you to providea bespoke wedding breakfast. Carefully chosen dishes will suit all preferences andpalates, from a gourmet six course meal, to pie and mash ­ the only limit is yourimagination! We can also cater for all ethnic wedding menus. All menus are prepared byour skilled and talented chefs using the finest locally sourced produce. The Edwardian Manor House

Full catering facilities includingmorning tea and coffee on arrival and afternoon tea can be catered for, with wi­fi facilitiesavailable.The Conservatory, seating up to 50 guests, has stunning views across the private lawnsand beyond, over the extensive paddocks and Romney Marsh, while the elegant DiningRoom, with ancient oak dining suite, can cater for 16 guests, and reflects the romanticgrandeur of a by­gone era.
