The Alexander Centre is a beautiful and impressive Victorian town-house in the heart of the mediaeval market town of Faversham in Kent. With elegant heritage rooms within the main house and a large multi-functional hall and garden at the back; The Alexander Centre is a fantastic venue to hire for business meetings, workshops, weddings, parties, concerts and conferences. It is situated in the heart of a very pretty town with numerous other facilities nearby, including shops, cafes and restaurants.


The Alexander Centre is licensed to hold wedding ceremonies as well as receptions, and also has a fully licensed bar and a catering-sized kitchen.

Their ceremony room, has a high ceiling, lovely cornicing, large windows and parquet flooring, providing a light and elegant space for the happy couple and up to 50 guests. Their large hall can be decorated with ceiling and wall drapes and comfortably accommodates up to 150 guests for a sit-down meal, with plenty of space for dancing afterwards. the hall also opens out onto a lovely private garden and the licensed bar provides a further connected space to chat and mingle.


If you’re looking for a versatile and convenient setting for a meeting, conference, seminar, exhibition or fair, the Alexander Centre is superbly located for corporate events.  It is a prestigious building located in a historic conservation area, and is both affordable and accessible. They offer full facilities including catering, or there are several excellent pubs and restaurants within a five minute walk.

The venue sometimes has an opportunity to rent one of their upper floor offices. Well equipped and affordable, these are perfect for start-ups, small businesses, community interest companies and charities. The offices range in size from 5-50 square metres.

Venue Hire

The Gatefield Hall is the largest room for hire in the area and is perfect if you’re planning a big event such as a wedding, milestone birthday, a fund-raiser, conference or exhibition. It can seat 250 for a conference, 160 for a dinner dance or 300 for drinks and canapé reception. It’s also popular for lectures and public consultations, as well as exhibitions and fairs. It has its own large catering kitchen and adjoining bar, and opens onto a walled garden. The Gatefield Hall is licensed for civil weddings and partnerships. It’s versatile and spacious – ideal for ceremonies of 50-150+ guests, depending on how the hall is arranged.

The Jubilee room is a large ground floor reception room with heritage features and sprung parquet floor. The room is decorated in soft heritage paint shades and is both a beautiful room and a neutral backdrop for a wide range of business, entertaining and leisure activities.

The Charters room is a large ground floor carpeted reception room with heritage features including some beautiful cornicing and a magnificent fireplace. This is both a beautiful room and a neutral backdrop for a wide range of business, entertaining and leisure activities.
