Greeted with a friendly smile, I was shown to my table by the owner, Mr Shah, tucked away in the corner of this cosy Indian restaurant. With poppadoms at the ready I looked forward to sampling this restaurant’s delights.
I started with the Prawn Puri which hit the spot on all the levels that matter – taste, presentation and cost. Washed down with the ice cold Cobra beer, I was extremely happy with how my meal was flourishing. Moving on to the main, I opted for a Bangladeshi option – the Chicken Tikka Rezala. As I expected, the Rezala had more of a kick to it than a standard Masala but not too much as to damage my substandard and frankly, pathetic tastebuds. Alongside the main I opted for with a side of special rice and saag paneer which were both perfect. With a bottle of South African white wine to cool the slightly warm tongue, I was full up and happy.
Great value, great service, great food. Not much more you can want from an Indian restaurant.
