Everest Inn Ashford Review

Everest Inn Ashford- Our Review

The Location & Background

Situated in a rather striking building a few minutes walk from Ashford International Station, Everest Inn in Ashford, Kent is one of four of its kind scattered around the South East and Linconshire. They are an expanding, modern & established chain of Indian & Nepalese restaurants.

The Vibe

The first thing that strikes you when you enter the restaurant is the extremely warm welcome you receive from all members of staff. From the greeter, to the waiter – there are no shortages of smiles here. This lively, exciting establishment seems to attract a wide variety of diners which says it all really – they offer something for everyone. The decor is subtle yet effective and doesn’t take the shine off the real purpose of the venue. Even if you aren’t feeling the food, there’s a bar providing a wide selection of soft drinks, bottled and draught beers, quality wines and champagne. No matter what kind of day you’ve had, they ensure all will be forgotten the moment you enter the venue and that’s before you’ve even sampled the food!

The Food

I was literally blown away by the amazing aroma coming from the food being served to the tables around me that I couldn’t wait to get my head in the menu and order for myself!

I opted to start with the Tandoori Scallops (£6.95). A spicy little number, packed full of flavour which didn’t disappoint. The scallops were cooked to perfection, something that is quite hard to find locally in restaurants of this cuisine type.

For the main I went for one of the Chef’s Recommendations, Machha Moddi Khola (£9.95). Again, a difficult dish to get right. However, the chef showed great skill to ensure the delicate fish wasn’t overcooked and ruined. The sauce that accompanied the fish was sublime with hints of yoghurt, mustard, ginger and herbs. The knowledgeable waiter recommended a plain rice to go with the dish, which again was a great choice. Had the rice been too overpowering, the flavour of the fish would most certainly have been lost.

Overall both courses were perfectly balanced and executed to perfection.

The Verdict

Spot on service & great decor. Well priced & stunning food. Would highly recommend…
